I've really enjoyed every minute I've spent with Dirt Rally 2.0, just as I did with 1.0 before it. The handling is gorgeous, the routes are truly beautiful to look at, and the management is ...manageable. The cars all have tons of individual character, the rallycross feels scrappy and frenetic and everything just comes together wonderfully. Codemasters, eh? They really have the hang of this thing.

    Quotation forthcoming.

DiRT Rally 2.0 does nothing but improve the reputation of the purest, modern rally series out there.
  4. Feb 18, 2019
Builds on what's good about its unapologetically hardcore predecessor and adds a full-featured Rallycross career mode for those who prefer to trade paint in their racing.
  5. Feb 18, 2019
Codemasters has succeeded in perfecting an already spectacular driving model, making it more reactive and enjoyable, launching DiRT Rally 2.0 towards the throne of the best rally game ever. Launching, at day one, without events on the snow, the title is missing a fundamental piece. Apart from that, this is now the most refined rally simulator on the market.

DiRT Rally 2.0 is a worthy successor to DiRT Rally. The driving/car physics which feel as sophisticated as anything else out there, are only slightly hindered by mediocre force feedback. The tracks and surrounding countryside are gorgeous in their own right; the environmental lighting and shadows serve to make them stunning at times. The addition of Rallycross serves to make DiRT Rally 2.0 two great simulations in one package.

Codemasters did not want to cut anyone out and wanted to address the widest possible audience, while not yielding to the lures of arcade-simulation hybridization.
  8. Feb 18, 2019
Simply the best rally sim around, building on its predecessor’s already fine foundations.
  9. Mar 19, 2019
Before you buy Dirt Rally 2.0, ask yourself: do you have the faith to conquer this tough game? If not, this game might not suit you. It's only prepared for those who love challenges.
  10. Feb 27, 2019
DiRT Rally 2.0 is still the benchmark in terms of rallying simulation, but we regret that Codemasters has made the choice to sell as DLC content that was previously available in the first iteration of the game.
  11. Feb 26, 2019
Despite a bare-bones multiplayer, DiRT Rally 2.0 is for hard-core enthusiasts of the sport. It is an unforgiving simulator that delivers a racing experience that, though highly difficult to master, is satisfying and requires utmost concentration and engagement.
  12. Feb 23, 2019
It could be improved in terms of content, but no other rally sim gives you driving physics as sophisticated, challenging and simply great as Dirt Rally 2.0!
  13. Feb 22, 2019
Dirt Rally 2.0 feels like the next gear in the gearbox that is the Dirt saga in the recent years.
  14. Feb 21, 2019
DiRT Rally 2.0 brings some great and challenging driving feelings in spite of a too clasic career mode and a graphics engine that sometimes feels a bit old.
  15. Feb 19, 2019
Dirt Rally 2.0 is as tricky to tame as its predecessor but doing so is as satisfying as ever.
  16. Feb 18, 2019
DiRT Rally 2.0 far surpasses other rally titles and other games that feature, though don't specialise in rallying. With an extensively detailed roster of cars, where each of them feels, handles and reacts differently, on tracks that actively degrade through constant use, changing the lines you'll have to take, this is a game that will keep you thinking. Best of all, unlike its prequel (to an extent) and other racing sims, it's accessible thanks to a bevy of assists that you can change to suit your needs. A game that only features a few downsides, the primary one being a shallow career mode and some minor bugs here and there. All things considered, DiRT Rally 2.0 is the premier rally experience you could hope to have.

If you like rallies, you will love this game. Its modes are not very elaborate, but the driving experience is fantastic.

An improvement in all aspects, but above all a great ride to test your skills. Just a pity for those business shenanigans that make the content lag behind the form by more than just a few milliseconds. [Issue#294]

The overall rating of Dirt Rally 2.0 is still positive considering the contents and modalities, even if we would have liked a couple more rallies and fewer Rallycross circuits.

Dirt Rally 2.0 will not become a cult hit like Colin McRae Rally 2.0 did. Still, if you’re tired of the original Dirt Rally, don't miss this sequel — decent rally simulators are a very rare breed these days.

As often is the case with Codemasters, Dirt Rally 2.0 failed to properly build upon the success of its predecessor. Even if we disregard the blatant DLC-milking, there’s still the issue of quirky physics and poor sound effects. [Issue#237, p.42]
  22. Feb 26, 2019
With excellent vehicle handling, DiRT Rally 2.0 finds itself in a strong position. It also has superb visuals and brutal simulation aspects. Apart from AI issues and track repetition, it should please most rally fans.

It also comes with one of the most egregious always online drms that I've been forced to endure and you will lose any progression that you've made in the singleplayer (campaign) when "connection failed" pops up (or you can't play at all) and you've to wait for their racenet drm server to play catch up. Спасибо большое, а ведь я ждал игру, но без русского языка не стану играть принципиально.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is a racing "simulator" with weak and missing force feedback with wheels, flickering on triple screens, no VR, lag on high endDirt Rally 2.0 is a racing "simulator" with weak and missing force feedback with wheels, flickering on triple screens, no VR, lag on high end gaming rigs, sound issues and slip and slide arcade asphalt physics.

Force feedback is not just weak but missing. You can feel the slight pressure of the wheel, but you cannot feel the road. With ffb setting all the way up you can crash into a boulder at high speeds and feel nothing. In DR1 if you crank up ffb settings all the way it is so strong you can barely hold onto the wheel.

Many Logitech wheel users are unable to adjust steering sensitivity. You must turn your wheel 180 degrees in order to get the in game wheel to turn 90, and this is with steering saturation all the way up. Steering is fine with my xbox controller.

Single player requires a constant internet connection. Server issues is causing a number of issues - like being unable to play single player, race results being reset and even progress being completely lost. So even if you do have good internet you are not safe from these problems.

Asphalt has poor grip and unrealistic slip and slide physics. In my research I read that Codemasters knows there is a problem and knows how to fix it, BUT that would require programming the AI to drive on it properly. So instead of properly programming the AI they give us arcade asphalt physics.

Graphically DR2 looks somewhere between Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally 1 - which is a downgrade. The race marshal has the exact same face in DR1 and is the same for every race. Like this guy travels all over the world and marshals every single rally race on the planet. How the graphics get worse but the system requirements keep increasing is a mystery to me.

Lag and stutter. Many are experiencing stuttering from every few seconds, to every thirty seconds. This is even on high end gaming rigs and with graphic settings turned down.

It's really annoying that every professional reviewer gave this good reviews. I've unsubbed from every sellout youtuber that gave this a positive review. I trusted these sellout liars to tell the truth. Never again.

I know a lot of people will defend the game and say you have to wait for the first few updates, or the game isn't finished yet. This is NOT early access. It's a game being sold at a AAA price. Only in the game industry has it become normal to sell unfinished broken products. Imagine going to a restaurant and they serve you raw meat, or buying a movie or book that is unfinished. In any other industry it is unacceptable - and it should be the same in the game industry.

Overall DR2.0 is a simcade that needs at least another year of development. I was lucky enough to be able to refund. Maybe I'll try it again this Christmas when it's $10.
