Arca’s Path combines fun and accessible gameplay with an amazingly intuitive and inventive control scheme. What could have been a debacle is instead a triumph. Arca’s Path is a small game with giant ideas, and it deserves attention and praise for the ridiculously high level at which it is executed.

Arca's Path is a bit different to all those turret shooters and horror games that you've been using your PSVR headset for but we really appreciated its calm aesthetic, excellent controllers and well thought out gameplay.

You control Arca's Path with nothing but your head and thanks to the game's sublime head tracking it's possible to be very precise. Add varied level design to the mix and you'll know you're dealing with an interesting experience. However, the whole thing will be over in just three hours, which isn't all that many.

Arca’s Path subscribes to the ‘do one thing and do it well’ school of video game design, making it simple and intuitive to guide your ball through the steadily more complex and maze-like levels. It might lack some of the charm or adventurousness of other VR games released this year, but Arca’s Path is a wonderfully accessible VR game that’s incredibly easy to pick up and play.

Arca's Path is a simple game with some nice challenges and some nice level designs, and never becomes too difficult to allow all ages a chance to enjoy.

There’s no denying that Arca’s Path is a safe debut from DRI (or at least as safe as you can get with VR), but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth your time. This is a perfectly palatable little marble maze that straddles the line between challenge and fairness with mostly successful results. Most importantly, though, it’s that rare VR game that genuinely feels like anyone can pick up and play. For DRI, I suspect that’s mission accomplished.

For a while, Arca's Path promises to be a new kind of VR game, but in the end its problems are all too familiar. [Jan 2019, p.121]

Really loved this! Area's Path is innovative and enjoyable. This handset-free game really feels like a step in the right direction for VR. ItReally loved this! Area's Path is innovative and enjoyable. This handset-free game really feels like a step in the right direction for VR. It merges a simple concept (ball rolling) with no need for any kind of controller. You have a lot of control over the ball which feels really sophisticated and you can take your time completing levels. Would definitely recommend to anyone trying out VR for this first time. Expand
